For the seventh consecutive year, at MailTecK & Customer Comms we are going to allocate what would be our budget for Christmas gifts to charity and charitable purposes. On this occasion, we will materialize our collaboration through Oxfam Intermón, one of the NGOs with the greatest tradition and number of projects, to support their work with the populations of Lake Chad. The campaign, as always, relies on the participation of our customers, who will only have to click on a button that will be sent to them in an email.
This lake, located between Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Cameroon, has lost 90% of its surface area in recent decades due to the climate crisis. This causes not only a lack of water for the inhabitants of the area, but also a crucial decrease in resources and food from fishing, livestock and agriculture. “The dunes do not stop advancing and the sand is swallowing up my farmland,” says Djaboura, a woman who lives on the shores of the lake and who suffers, along with her family and neighbors, the consequences of the crisis. Djaboura tells his story through Oxfam Intermón.
Thanks to the help of individuals and companies, this program delivers food and drinking water to the inhabitants of the area and installs water pumps and fountains so that these people can irrigate their crops, raise their livestock and, in short, regain their autonomy.
This project is directly aligned with some of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as the first three (end poverty, zero hunger and health and well-being), the sixth, clean water and sanitation, the eleventh, sustainable cities and communities, and the twelfth, responsible production and consumption. And our collaboration joins our contribution to these and other SDGs through our activity, our solidarity actions, such as this and other Christmas campaigns, our corporate social responsibility plan and our identity as a sustainable supplier.

In previous years, our Christmas campaigns have contributed to the programs of organizations such as Unicef, Save The Children, Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and Aldeas Infantiles, the NGO with which we initiated this type of collaboration.
