In addition, they are issuing the account number in real time. This is the future of <em>onboarding<\/em>, so make sure you are on board.&#8221; <strong><br \/>\n  <a href=\"#fuentes\" rel=\"noopener\">[2]<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As further confirmation, in a <strong>webcast on digital account onboarding<\/strong> hosted by OneSpan and Avoka, 200 attendees were asked if digital customer <em>onboarding<\/em> was one of their top 3 priorities. Almost 80% said yes.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;grid&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1557153548347{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;padding-top: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;background-color: #e5e5e5 !important;}&#8221;][vc_column dp_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;5704&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; dp_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;grid&#8221;][vc_column dp_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text dp_animation=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Why <em>onboarding<\/em> and opening digital accounts?<\/h2>\n<p>Improving the customer experience starts with a fully digital experience. Why?<\/p>\n<ol style=\"padding: 0 0 0 20px;\">\n<li style=\"line-height: 1.8; text-indet: -15px;\"><strong>First, many high-value relationships derive from transactions such as opening an account. Institutions need to achieve excellence from the outset.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 1.8; text-indet: -15px;\"><strong>Second, customers expect this: a KPMG report <a href=\"#fuentes\" rel=\"noopener\">[3]<\/a> shows that up to 90% of all <em>millennials<\/em> use mobile banking and take the digital experience for granted.<\/strong> In fact, both <em>millennials<\/em> and high net worth customers expect a mobile experience.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 1.8; text-indet: -15px;\"><strong>Finally, and perhaps most importantly, digitization allows your staff to spend time engaging customers in the conversations necessary to promote and cross-sell high-value products and services.<\/strong>  For example, a fully digital process facilitates the sale of products such as loan insurance, bringing in additional revenue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 18px; letter-spacing: 0;\"><strong>The benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The most direct way through which financial service providers can improve <em>onboarding<\/em> and account opening is by ensuring that the process remains fully digital. It achieves greater speed, less manual work, fewer errors, more rigorous compliance and meets today&#8217;s expectations of such an experience.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"line-height: 1.8;\"><strong>Workflow rules eliminate errors:<\/strong> all data and signatures are captured correctly the first time, during a single transaction session. Manual processes generate errors, such as missing signatures and empty data fields on paper forms. These Not-in-Good-Order documents are not in order or correct. <em><br \/>\n  <strong><br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onespan.com\/blog\/what-difference-0-nigo-rate-makes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Not-in-Good-Order documents<\/a><br \/>\n  <\/strong><br \/>\n<\/em> (NIGO <em>documents<\/em>) are time-consuming and costly to correct, but financial companies have no choice, they have to fix it. And fixing it is 3 to 4 times the cost of an error-free digital process, simply because of all the additional time and effort involved in recontacting the customer and working to fix any errors.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 1.8;\"><strong>Electronic signatures speed up the process:<\/strong> the elimination of handwritten signatures compresses the process from days or weeks into a single session. This can be seen in the case of the <strong>Bank of Montreal<\/strong>, which recently introduced electronic signatures to speed up the incorporation process.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 1.8;\"><strong> <em>Mobile First<\/em> customers now have an alternative to paper:<\/strong> when people log in on a mobile device, the signing experience becomes easier and more convenient, more personal and more accessible than on desktops or laptops.
